Hello, and welcome to Soap Leaves!
My name is Michelle, and I’m an artisan soapmaker in Cleveland, Ohio. I’m the creator of Sarva Natural Artisan Soaps. As the name implies, Sarva soaps are all-natural luxury vegetable soaps, crafted entirely by hand. You can read more about me and my soaps either at my web site or by clicking the “About” tab (still under construction) at the top of this page.
What? A blog about soap? Only sometimes. More often, my life as a soapmaker will be the perspective from which I write. Like any other creative passion, soapmaking can be an opportunity to learn–or apply–greater life lessons.
Before this begins to sound too much like “Zen and the Art of Soapmaking”, I’ll give you an outline of what I have planned for Soap Leaves. Here are some regular features you’ll see:
- Small Business Spotlight: Small businesses need to stick together! I sell my soaps to several unique and wonderful small businesses. I’ll feature these and others here on Soap Leaves with the goal of strengthening our community connection and spreading the word about what we do.
- Notes from the Soap Studio: I’ll use this space to offer previews of new creations, or give you behind-the-scenes glimpses of how I create my soaps.
- Special Events: I teach soapmaking classes from time to time, as well as workshops or private coaching in mind-body wellness or meditative arts. I’ll list relevant community events as well.
- Conscious Living: Holistic… green… eco… natural… this feature will encompass all of these terms. Sarva is an environmentally friendly business, and I aim to live in harmony with the Earth. Learn natural remedies, make your own earth-friendly cleaners, become less reliant on commercial goods, and more!
- From the Artisan’s Soul: I bring my meditative practice into my soap studio every day, and both of these parts of my life infuse other experiences as well. Here, I’ll share with you some of the wisdom I gain as I walk my (admittedly unique) path.
I hope to post something new for you every week, or perhaps every two. Life’s like that, isn’t it? Soap Leaves will find its own rhythm.
So… thanks for stopping by, and I hope you enjoy Soap Leaves! See you again soon.
